mission 365

Mission 365 is a term to describe a disciple's mindset for fulfilling the Great Commission. For many, going on a mission trip is a life-altering experience, and it should be!

The goal of Mission 365 is to help these disciples continue "to go and make disciples of all nations." Remaining in the missionary mind-set means to never forget the fire that was ignited when on the mission field. Remembering that "the fields are white and ripe for harvest" wherever one lives is an adage that is imperative to the mission. Mission trips are not a stand-alone experience, but are a gateway to entering into divine opportunities to advance the making of disciples.

A Mission 365 mindset challenges disciples to continue on cross-cultural ventures in a variety of ways. Below are a few key points to consider:

  • To pray for those who are ministering in the fields visited.
  • To locate local agencies, ministries, and organizations in which disciples can assist.
  • To correspond with those befriended on trips. (written notes, Facebook, email, and Skype when possible)
  • To improve foreign language skills in order to increase the depth and quality of communication.
  • To go back to the places where relationships have been forged and continue the disciple-making process.

Staying on Mission 365 is simply remembering Philippians 1:6:

"He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it."
